Today is Thanksgiving and normally I would be with my family. This year we are crazy busy with work and I decided to stay in Cleveland and forego the stress of travel. I will spend a month in Southern California with my family at Christmas, so I did not feel too bad about missing Thanksgiving. My sister and niece live in Denver and my parents will spend Thanksgiving with them this year.

The day my website launched with our new tag line, “Communications skills to take you to the top,” I was headed to Crested Butte, Colo., to go hiking with two college friends, Nikki and Ingrid.
My favorite way to relax and get away from work is to be outside - preferably some place to hike, followed by spa activities! The timing of this trip was perfect. I had been working non-stop to get the new website up and felt completely burnt out.

So let’s start with my most embarrassing presentation moment! After all, standing and presenting to people is an art, not a science and it is never predictable!
When people attend our presentation training they know they are going to stand in front of their peers and get critiqued and recorded. Let’s just say there is a little tension in the room first thing in the morning.

Confession: I have to admit, I have been too busy to visit other people’s blogs. So I had to ask somebody, “What does a typical blog look like?”. They graciously sent me to a few interesting blogs. I really got hooked into one woman’s blog. What I liked was the feeling that I was getting to know her on a more personal level.
